Josh Fenton_Consultant Headshot

Josh FENTON

Josh has 10 years of experience in both designing architecture and amplifying the voices of placekeeping and placemaking experts. Josh studied Architecture at Edinburgh University and the London School of Architecture, driven by a passion for social housing delivery. Early on in his career, he realised the power of language and communication in shaping perceptions, co-founding the progressive urbanism zine Afterparti. Josh’s early work with socially-minded architectural practices was often informed by the conversations that took place within this group.

Most recently, Josh was senior communications manager at Berkeley Group and prior to that, he held team-leading roles at two communications agencies delivering tangible results for his clients.

Josh’s expertise is broad, encompassing PR and media engagement, events and activations, brand and digital support, research, and community listening for clients across the built environment, including third-sector organisations that have a stake in shaping sustainable and inclusive communities.

For Josh, effective communications follow on from effective work. All strategies are rooted in simplicity, truth-telling and credibility. By continually bringing his clients back to these three pillars, he is able to help them navigate and cut through the noise.

In addition to his work as an independent consultant, Josh is a Trustee at Lyng Community Association and a Visiting Missionary for CFCI Zimbabwe.
